A trusted leader committed to serving PPPWU members and their families
The PPPWU is proud to welcome our new Secretary/Treasurer, a longtime union brother whose dedication to the membership spans decades. Having worked at the union since 1996 and becoming a member in 2002, he brings deep institutional knowledge, steady leadership, and a strong commitment to accountability. In the following Q&A, he shares what the role means to him, why unions matter, and the values that guide his work on behalf of our members and their families.
What does being Secretary/Treasurer of the PPPWU mean to you?
It is an honor to serve this great union as Secretary/Treasurer to safeguard the assets that have been accumulated through all of the hard work from our members. It is a position of trust that requires accountability and responsibility to continue the legacy of our union.
As Secretary/Treasurer what is one takeaway you want people to understand about the role?
The role of Secretary/Treasurer is to always be responsible so that the union can be stable and consistent for the membership over the long term. It is to preserve the assets while providing benefits to the membership.
What is a piece of advice a mentor gave you in regard to working/unions that has stuck with you?
That we are elected to represent our union brothers and sisters to advance the best interests of our membership and their families. It is an honor to be given the opportunity to fight and protect our workforce.
Why do Unions matter?
Unions matter because there is so much more power to bargain for fair wages, benefits and working conditions. The union’s representation creates a more fair playing field against the employers who may take advantage of any individual employee’s rights.
What are you most proud of in your career?
That I have developed the trust from the membership that I have worked with for over 30 years and that I am an honest person who has integrity and compassion for all our members.
Leading With Accountability and Purpose
With more than 30 years of service and a reputation built on trust, integrity, and compassion, our new Secretary/Treasurer steps into this role with a clear focus on protecting the union’s assets and strengthening its future. His commitment to responsible leadership and member advocacy reflects the core values of the PPPWU, and we look forward to the continued stability and growth of our union under his stewardship.
